DVN Lighting Workshop Japan

We are participating at the DVN Lighting Workshop in Tokyo from June 11-12, 2025.

The automotive industry's lighting workshops have developed over the years into a permanent and established component of innovation exchange. The workshop in Japan will be held locally for the first time after a 13-year hiatus and will bring together hundreds of international participants and experts.

German youth research and science competition

Interesting projects by young researchers within the fields of working, biology, chemistry, earth and spatial sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics and technology will be presented to an expert jury on February 20, 2025 on the campus of the AWO Schlossschule in Neustadt an der Orla.

The project swill be furhtermore presented to the public from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The winners in each category are qualified to take part in the Thuringian competition in Jena. The students are supported primarily by their supervisors at the schools/teaching institutions in Neustadt an der Orla and the Saale-Orla district. As a practice partner, Docter Optics has been committed to supporting young talent in southeast Thuringia for many years.

Explore our new technology footprint in high precision free-form laser cutting and singulation of micro lens arrays.

We offer unique glass cutting posibilities and singulation process with an precission up to 2µm and a glass thickness from 100µm up to 20mm.
You need some more technical details. Here we go:
⚙️ working area: 1.500 x 850 mm²
⚙️ glass thickness: 30 µm up to 20 mm
⚙️ single path cutting: up to approximately 3 mm with standard optics package
⚙️ cutting speed: up to 1 m/s and above depending on glass
⚙️ path accuracy: +/- 5 µm

🏆 **Successful CityDownhill Race 2024** 🏆

On 19 October 2024, more than 5,000 interested parties visited Pößneck to watch exciting MTB races! 80 men and 5 women started. Finally:  Melanie Wittmann and Lucas Rahm were able to secure the desired medals. Congratulations! 🥇🔥 Docter Optics is proud to have supported this event by manufacturing customized glass medals. It was a pleasure to support and promote MTB sports as well as public trails.

Currently our team is working on industrial replication processes for the production of Fresnel and diffractive lenses (ReMiS). 💥👀💡

Higher, faster, future driven are well know approchaes within the industry - with our research we are moving towards the latest market trends: smaller, lighter, more sustainable.  👨🔬📚📑

As an example:
By reducing the quantity of used materials and components within an optical system it is possible to shorten the installation depth.
Using sustainable multifunctional lenses offers complete new industrial solutions within the world projected images e.g. in fields like automotive lighting. ✌💹

Of course, we were there again in the last week of September to present our latest solutions. Cutting-edge technology was in the air and we were able to learn a lot about the latest developments and requirements in the German economy. As always, W3+ was also a great opportunity to make contacts across industry sectors and to develop ideas for future innovative projects together.
